Psalm 65:4 says, “Blessed is the man whom thou choosest, and causeth to approach unto thee, that he may dwell in thy courts: we shall be satisfied with the goodness of thy house, even of thy holy temple.”

In David’s time, God had chosen the line of Aaron to approach unto God and be the High Priest. In this verse, we see David’s recognition of God’s blessing upon those who were chosen by God to have a close relationship with HIM.

Because of the birth, life, death, and resurrection of Jesus Christ, which we will celebrate in less than two weeks, there is no longer a need to go through a priest in order to draw closer to God.  Now you have the ability to draw nigh unto God anytime you choose.  However, just because you have the ability to draw closer to God, it does not mean that you choose to live by God’s higher standards and live your life with HIM guiding your every step.

Your relationship with God should grow.  You should always be seeking to draw closer to God.  As you learn to choose God in all that you do, you will learn to be satisfied with the goodness of God.  How can you be content with where you are in life if you have not taken the time to first put God as a priority?  Until God is number one in your life, the things of this world will distract you and will constantly be causing you to desire to put things above God.

If you desire to see the blessing of God in your life, then you need to take the time to approach unto God.  The blessing of God does not mean that you will have great wealth, long life, and no troubles.  The blessing of God is the peace that passes all understanding.  You can be in the midst of the storm, but because you know that you are in the center of God’s will, you can give glory to God even though things appear to be difficult.

You cannot be in the center of God’s will if you do not take the time to understand God and discover HIS will for your life.  Until you are willing to make the sacrifices that are necessary to put God first in your life and to approach unto HIS goodness, your life will lack the blessing of God.

Corrie and Betsie ten Boom were in Ravensbrück Concentration Camp.  They learned to draw near unto God and to give HIM praise for the trials they faced.  God used these women to bring many to HIM.  God used lice to keep the guards out of the barracks, thus permitting the sisters to share the Gospel with many troubled souls.  Corrie and Betsie did not have an easy life; in fact, Betsie died at Ravensbrück.  However, because they desired to draw closer to God, God used them in a mighty way.

The Jerusalem Prayer Team with Dr. Michael D. Evans exists to build Friends of Zion to guard defend and protect the Jewish people and to pray for the peace of Jerusalem. We pray for peace in Jerusalem because the Scriptures tell us to in Psalm 122:6. The Jerusalem Prayer Team was inspired from the 100-year long prayer meeting for the restoration of Israel held in the ten Boom family home in Haarlem, Holland. We are committed to encouraging others to pray for the peace of Jerusalem and God's Chosen People.
